Wound Care
Wound Care Instructions
  1. Remove the bandage the morning after your surgery. You may replace the bandage as often as you like.

  2. Cleanse the wound with soap and water or any antiseptic and apply Polysporin (double antibiotic ointment) once or twice each day.

  3. If a dry scab forms, a dab of alcohol twice a day is all that is necessary.

  4. If it drains or develops pus, soak the area with salt water twice a day ( 1 to 2 tablespoons of salt or Epsom salts to a glass of water).

  5. If bleeding occurs apply constant pressure for twenty minutes.

  6. If the results of the biopsy are not received by mail in two weeks, phone the office at 336-333-9111.

  7. Greensboro Pathology Associates (Moses Cone Hospital Lab) or Annie Penn Hospital will bill you separately for the pathology.
