(Leg Veins) Instructions |
The following instructions should be followed for the best possible
results.
Before the procedure:
- If you shave
your legs within 24 hours before the procedure, your legs may
sting when we clean them with alcohol.
- Avoid aspirin,
ibuprofen, and related products for 3-4 days prior to your visit.
- Bring shorts
to wear during the procedure.
After the
procedure:
- You may
shave at any time.
- You may
use moisturizers as soon as you wish.
- For the
first 48 hours, avoid prolonged standing and elevate your legs
while sitting.
- Mild exercise
is acceptable. Avoid strenuous activity such as running or aerobics
for one week.
- Extra-strength
Tylenol may be taken for discomfort. Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen,
and related products for one week. If there is any pain that Tylenol
does not control, please contact the office.
- Local swelling
and bruising may occur at the site of needle sticks and along
the vein. Swelling resolves within 24 hours. Bruising fades slowly
within several weeks.
- Brown spots
or streaks usually resolve in 6 months.
- Support
hose are recommended to be worn on a daily basis. This will improve
your results and may prevent your leg veins from worsening.
- A minimum
of 3 weeks is recommended between treatments.
